最新修改update: 2021-10-14 (本月審批NI時間速度加快了）
National Insurance (N.I.) No. 是要係英國搵工做幾乎係必須(大部份英國僱主都會問)，亦是英國入息課稅的其中一環，您的國民保險繳款會存入一個基金，從中支付一些福利。這包括國家養老金、法定病假工資或產假，或獲得額外失業救濟金的權利。
以往應該係只得電話申請，但現在BNO visa人士都可以透過網上申請取得NI (National Insurance) Number.
大約要幾耐先到手?
We aim to contact you within 16 weeks of receiving your photocopied identity documents to tell you if we have approved your application.
You can start work and get paid without a National Insurance number if you can prove you can work in the UK. Your employer might ask for proof of your right to work in the UK.
申請連審批大約須時16個星期，但有個案都有超過都未批。按我自己個人經驗, 到步後經online申請再郵寄CA5400D form, 差唔多15個星期左右就先收到自己個NI number. (2021-10-14 update: 最近聽到2個朋友個案大約一個月就審批到，大約9月2/3號寄出，10月14號就收到信！效率變快左約40幾日）
因為要16個星期，form入面要你填寫既個right to work既code應該會expiry, 佢地會分開要求你透過email比多次 之後過多幾日就會收到hardcopy NI number既信. 祝大家早日申請成功。
網上申請流程:
- Online申請: https://www.apply-national-insurance-number.service.gov.uk/apply/welcome
- 收到確認電郵，再根據電郵內容既步驟去做.
- 對護照頁面進行黑白複印件，其中包括您的照片和簽名頁
- 對以下其中一樣文件進行黑白複印：Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) or our most recent UK entry clearance visa
- Download 電郵裡的CA5400D表格然後列印 (電郵連結的檔案會自動將登編號填上)
- 用黑色筆及以全大階填寫表格的其餘部分。
- 將填妥的 CA5400D 表格和您的 2 份影印文件放入信封中。
- 貼上正確的郵資並將其發送至電郵提及的中心地址。
- Done, 請靜侯16個星期左右。
What you need to do next?
1. Make a note of your application reference number: XXXXXXXX
This is the reference number for your application.
It is not your National Insurance number
2. Make a black and white photocopy of the page of your passport that includes your photograph and your signature.
3. Make a black and white photocopy of one of the following documents:
• both sides of your Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) or
• your most recent UK entry clearance visa
4. Print the CA5400D form here: https://xxxxxxxxxxx
Note that your application reference number (XXXXXXXXX) is entered automatically on page 1 of the form.
5. Fill in the rest of the form with a black pen using BLOCK CAPITALS.
6. Put the completed CA5400D form and your 2 photocopied documents in an envelope.
7. Add the correct postage and send it to:
