Hello all~ |
For this video, we are gonna talk about |
It happened in early March around city centre |
Here is the event map, and there were total 14 spots |
It is actually an |
art showcase |
Here was one of the installations as well |
We are going to bring you all to visit all the installations in this video |
Let’s goooooo |
Here is the first installation named |
Let’s check out this video to feel the vibes |
It just liked birds playing morse code |
It just feels like this~ |
It is really a comfy environment |
and reminding the listener of the delicate and fragile state of the environment and our own health |
Let’s head to 2nd installation located on Park St |
This is one of my fav *V* |
Surrounded the window of Banksy’s famous Well Hung Lover |
it offered a peek into the lives of those living next door |
Of course it mainly explored the unique relationship of people under pandemic |
Work from home is definitely included |
as well as workout in home haha |
and some of the hottest topic around the globe |
For example Black Lives Matter |
and of course the diverse community |
Respect to the medical staff on the upper floor |
Let’s check out what neighbours we were getting here! |
It was so ironic…. |
That’s the end, everyone shutting their window down |
This was really a good one! |
Back to where we start the video, and its the third one here (sorry for the rainy blurry shot) |
The third installation is |
The movement of the swing controlled the music soundtrack |
We had quite some people around the swing |
so we were not paying attention to the music haha |
Everyone was having a lot of fun |
Let’s head to next installation >>> |
We then went to the shopping area Cabot Circus |
There were 2 installations |
One of them was on the left side and it named |
This installation was this studio’s first, and smallest piece |
that resulted from experiments with different materials |
This piece was suspended a seemingly-floating, kaleidoscopic mirrored cube |
Utilised different lighting effect and music |
It caused some illusions when you looked at it |
Let’s walk to another one nearby |
The installation’s name is |
Using mirror. lighting and music |
It created optical illusions to let audience to pick which path to take for the future |
I like this one as well |
There were quiet some patterns and layouts from the illusion |
It really got the feeling of walking into a destination |
Quiet nice~ |
A lot of people did ask: Why we can’t just walk in? |
Some of them were very excited and walked, while some of them just left haha |
Let’s check out the next installation >>> |
It is called |
Except different colours |
they used networked kinetic technologies as well with moving blinds |
with different lighting effect |
It choreographed a performance in the empty offices of the city |
with also the lighting effect from the tower |
It was quiet interesting |
They did not have music or audio effect |
just the light and the blinds movement |
Let’s check out next installation >>> |
It was more quiescent… |
It is called |
It just felt like you were in a nature |
Luminous bird flew over |
Let’s show you guys the clip to immerse yourself in the nature |
so healingggggg |
It just felt like there were a lot of birds surrounding us |
It was really so comfy~ |
That’s it for this installation, let’s go to the next one~ |
The next one is somewhere around Castle Park |
It is in LHG |
orbs were coming out from LHG |
shooting overhead and rushing into the water below |
That’s how it looked like |
It seems not really fascinating when you looked from outside |
but if you were in LHG….then it is a totally different story!! |
Let’s go to another installation nearby within the park |
I guess you may have noticed it just now |
Let’s check out the sign |
This installation is called |
sorry for the wrong pronunciation ha |
This Bristolian phrase was voted by public |
Feel free to vote on twitter for upcoming phrase in next festival! |
Next >>> |
You may noticed it just now |
The name of the installation is |
I guess you can all get what it means with this title |
It is actually quiet cute *V* |
next >>> |
This one is another fav and it is called |
Have you all noticed this slinky toy?! |
This installation made this toy |
gigantic |
to explore the distorted relationship between us, the space and the object |
WOHOOOOOOOO~ |
It is another installation here, and it is called |
It is the the Planetarium on Millennium Square |
I think a lot of people always imagine this as a giant disco ball |
the disco beats was very vibinggg |
Everyone was enjoying themselves here |
even doggie haha |
It was really so fun here |
everyone couldn’t stop dancing with the beats |
Next we went to Queen Square |
Encircled the equestrian statue in Queen Square |
There were rainbow colored panels |
This is actually a daytime installation |
where you can see coloured shadows that extend and contract depending on the time of day, angle, and intensity of the sun |
so thats why we went to the next one quickly… |
The last one was very special as it talked about |
It was a super slient one |
comparing with Disco Ball you just saw |
is a totally different world |
Two deaf performers share their dreams for the future |
exploring communication barriers caused by pandemic (mask-wearing and social distancing) |
thats why it was a very meaningful one |
Overall the whole event was not visually very exciting |
but I do love each installation has |
its own special message! |
It was really meaningful! |
Not just visually attractive |
the messaging behind the pieces is very important |
altho it was not visually WOW-ed for us |
but all the messaging is really on trend!! |
That’s it for this video~ |
See you all next time! |
